Workshop: conceptual ideas and technical setap of a digital performance / installation

Topic
Using the performance [hol'-os] as a concrete example, Austrian artists Arno Deutschbauer and Micha Elias Pichlkastner will analyze not only the conceptual ideas and technical setup of a digital performance/installation, but they will give also an overall introduction to interactive performance tools (vvvv gamma, mas msp, touch designer, etc.).
The aim of their approach of this workshop is to potentially help the participating artists to choose the best tools and formats for their own future projects. The selection of tools in digital art and interactive projects is crucial to its success, as this topic has been somewhat neglected by educators in the past.
By showing and coding an example of a simplified (prototype) patch (in vvvv gamma and max msp, which the two artists will share with the participants afterwards) and the way we interact and connect sound to visuals and visuals to sound, Arno Deutschbauer and Micha Elias Pichlkastner will share ideas for a potential set ups for audiovisual real time performances and installations.
The format of the workshop is interactive, the participants being invited to actively ask questions, provide inputs and share their fields of interest. The workshop “S ECTI VE - tools for digital art and interactive projects“ is meant to be an open space to learn from each other!

The project is part of the National Cultural Programme "Timisoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded by the European Echoes programme, run by the Timisoara City Council Project Centre, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the Ministry of Culture budget. It is organized in partnership with the Municipality of Timișoara through the Project Centre.
