They have played big festivals like Desertfest Athens (2017), Rockstadt Extreme Fest in Romania (2014, 2018) and Rockwave Festival Athens (2022) and have been in two European tours (2015, 2018). Their most recent European tour in 2020 had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has been rescheduled for May 2023.
Allochiria’s music is thematic; it revolves around humans as social beings, the corruption that defines them in modern societies, their vain struggles, painful routines and the consequences of their actions in the world around them.
Their Methlab begun its musical journey around 2011 at northwestern Greece, in the city of Ioannina.
This region of the country thrives with post-apocalyptic-like nature scenery, face melting wind melodies and almighty mountains. This landscape, their way of life as students and the music scene of the city, were the first influences that formed the core of the band. Their music emerged in the form of long, heavy, groovy, psy jams.
The first recording took place after two fully creative years and the Their Methlab EP was self-released on April of 2013, introducing their music to the public.
The next three years the band went on hiatus. That of course didn't stop them from sharing the stage with a number of great bands that were Influential to their sound, such as: Jakob (NZ), Toundra (ES), Elder (USA) and Samsara Blues Experiment (DE). As of 2017, headquarters of Methlab facilities (both residency and laboratories) moved in the center of Athens.
The Last Second is the first full length album of the band and comes as a reward after all these music making years. In order to capture the magic, it was recorded live. Recordings took place at BlackBox Studio, were they spent 14 days inside experimenting around amps, mics, sounds, effects, cigarettes, coffee and dinosaurs. The result is a mixture of sharp grooves, dreamy yet aggressive guitar melodies and tight bass lines.
